For new patients or patients with a pain complaint (experiencing mild to acute pains), an introductory oral screening is advised in order to
properly assess the necessary dental treatment.

We advise our patients to visit their oral healthcare physician at least twice a year (every 6 months) for general evaluations. This may minimize the possibility of major dental complications and treatments.

Periodontitis, commonly known as gum disease, has a high prevalence in the Caribbean. Scaling and polishing remove plaque and tartar which decreases the possibility of gum disease. For patients suffering from gum disease, we offer periodontal treatment to help stabilize the disease.

There comes a point when there is no other alternative than to remove a tooth. This may be due to unrestorable decay of the tooth, for instance. Tooth extractions are done under local anesthesia and are considered outpatient treatment. It is advised to disclose all medication use to your oral healthcare physician prior to tooth extraction(s), as it may be necessary to stop the use of medication that may cause severe bleeding.
